E-commerce Development

Sell products through an online shop built around your business, with straightforward checkout, order management and the integrations you need.

An online shop that fits how you sell

It is a matter of making the buying experience effortless for your customers and order management no trouble at all for your staff. I put together e-commerce sites to that effect. If a business has requirements beyond a plain catalogue – be it specialist product lines or a shop tied into internal systems and customer portals – I will build a bespoke solution for it.

I am based in Watford and work with companies throughout Hertfordshire and the rest of the UK. When we are engaged, you are in direct contact with the developer who is planning and putting the site together. We have an agreed scope and make time to go over the work on a regular basis.

What can be part of your shop

We can put in place product catalogues with the necessary variations and search functions, or set up a basket and checkout with payment-provider integration. There are options for customer accounts and transactional emails, as well as the tools your team needs to handle stock and orders. We can also accommodate shipping rules, promotions and links to what you already have in place. If you are replacing an old shop, product migration and redirects are taken care of.

Often the sensible approach is to focus on a first release so you can start selling without putting money into features you have no use for. We will scope these things to your needs.

Experience with real businesses

For Gifticuffs, I built the Laravel website and branding around an existing logo, helping the business move from market stalls to an online shop. The owner reports that its pins have since reached international customers.

The previous Steppin Out Stars website combined a parent area with a merchandise shop. The client reported a fivefold increase in merchandise sales. That is a reported result from that project, rather than a forecast for a new shop.

From catalogue to launch

My process is to look at your order workflow and your customers first. After I have mapped out the purchase journey and we have settled on the integrations, I will have a working preview for you. In the run up to launch we will test everything from mobile use to failed payments and the staff workflow. You will be given a proper handover on how to run the place.

Clear ownership and ongoing costs

I will be upfront if a custom Laravel build is called for. Your proposal will cover hosting, third-party fees, support and delivery. The price is a function of the scope, which is settled before any building begins.

Tell me what you sell and where the current process gets in the way. And if the aim is to link an existing shop to other tools, we can look at API development and integration.

Frequently asked questions about :service

Do I need a bespoke online shop?

Not always. A standard platform may suit a straightforward catalogue. Bespoke development becomes useful when your products, customer accounts, pricing or order processes need functionality that standard tools cannot comfortably provide. I will help you assess that before recommending a build.

Can you connect payments, delivery and existing systems?

Yes. We agree the payment provider, shipping rules and any accounting, stock or CRM connections during discovery. Third-party fees and integration requirements are made clear in the proposal.

Can you move products and customers from my existing shop?

Migration can be included after reviewing the available exports and data quality. We plan product mapping, customer access, redirects and a checked launch process before moving the shop.

How much does an online shop cost?

The price depends on the catalogue, customer journeys, integrations and migration involved. I provide a written scope and quote after reviewing those requirements. Hosting, payment processing and other ongoing costs are identified separately.
